Re: Porting BT phone number

It's a royal pain still. I've wanted to port my land line number to the second port on my ATA adapter for a long time. and realized it would be a giant pain in the **bleep** and loss of service without ordering a second line.

Hopefully that changes, real soon.

Ironically I got a new 2nd line with sipgate partly because of the volume of scam calls due to the number being from the phone book days, and the unlimited call package was cheaper than BT's and includes mobiles.

Re: Porting BT phone number

I agree, but I wasn’t going to let BT win this one. Maybe the best time to do this would be when you are on vacation and not using your home internet.
I have looked at the Sipgate call package, but at the moment my call rate is still low (receiving a lot more calls than I’m making) so I will stay as I am for the time being. The fact it includes Mobile numbers is very appealing though.
Whilst being able to make landline calls via Sipgate on my mobile phone is fine, receiving them is not good. Will not make audible ring. Now that needs resolving.
