Problem pairing a second hand BT Premium phone to an existing base.

Go to solution

I have a BT Premium Trio phone set that is working fine. I have purchased a second hand BT Premium Trio phone set which also works fine with it's own base - but I am unable to re-register the handsets with my existing base (I don't want two base stations). I have tried resetting the handsets - and the new (second hand) base - but still when I try to register the new handsets with the existing base the registration fails. I am pressing and holding the "find" button on the base station. The existing base station has 3 hand sets registered to it - so should be fine. Any ideas why they fail to register?

You have to de-register the handset from the existing base before you can register to a new base station

Thanks - appreciate your reply, but yes, I thought that might be the case too. I have done that but it still doesn't work. I have even set the system pin on both bases to the same, then de-registered and it still doesn't work.

The new handset software version is XH88323_H7044, new base SW XB8810_B6990. Existing phone is Handset SW XH88323_H7125, Existing base SW XB8810_B7002.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks. Marc

Sorry - I was being a complete idiot. I forgot that a long time ago I had registered other handsets to the base that had long since died and been forgotten - so just realised that the base I was trying to register the handsets to already had 6 devices registered - even though we only have 3 now. My mistake - removed the other old devices and now all fine! Thanks again for your help.
