Re: Can I recover a lost phone number - Sentimental value

I have exactly the same issue as the first post.  I contacted BT and they said I couldn't get the old number back even if I switched back to them (which I would be happy to do).  I would just be given a new number.  It seems there is a separate procedre to request a renumber from BT once you are a customer - is this right?

Re: Can I recover a lost phone number - Sentimental value

I moved your post to start your own as other thread was marked as solved

Was the number originally allocated to you from BT and are you still at same address?

Re: Can I recover a lost phone number - Sentimental value

Thanks for the reply.  Yes it was originally a BT number and at the same address.  It was my parents' number for many years; after my mother's death, my brother switched the phone provider from BT to Vodafone and lost the original number.  I have now bought out my brother's share in the house so own it outright and have switched the phones back to BT.  For now I still have the number allocated by Vodafone but would like to recover the original number.  I've tried ringing it and there is no reply so no-one else is using it.
