Re: Full Fibre To The Property with Digital Voice and Third Party Router

Guru

 Thank you.

The system has a back up battery. The connection was only by the old copper BT line.

No mobile or IP connection- that’s what they are proposing to be fitted for between £600-£1000.

Calls out only come to our mobiles via BT to alert us- not to a call centre.

I can’t see why if power is supplied to their message modem and it’s connected via our internal copper telephone line , into the back of the Hub, while it wouldn’t work.

But I’m just a simple man!!

Re: Full Fibre To The Property with Digital Voice and Third Party Router

The alarm system probably monitors the line voltage in order to confirm th3 presence of a line in order that it can contact the alarm company if there is an activation.  If you can connect the alarm to the PSTN port on the home hub the alarm should be a happy bunny.

Is the PSTN port the green telephone socket at the back of the Hub?

If so I tried that but when I activated the alarm no message was sent. Hence my thought that a 50v supply would need to be supplied to the modem

Did you get a dialling tone when you plugged a phone into the green socket?
