Resetting the BT Advanced Digital Home Phone

I recently bought a BT Advanced Digital Phone on eBay.  The seller said the box had been opened but the phone hadn't been used.  Not sure this was strictly true, as the battery tab had been removed, activating the phone.  After charging, it went into a search mode looking for the Hub.  I suspect it might have registered to another Hub which it couldn't find.

So, I needed to reset the phone so that I could register it to my Smart Hub.  First I tried taking out the batteries for an hour or two to see if this would do a hard reset.  There's been a thread on here about changing the batteries as it isn't obvious.  It's described in the full downloadable user manual for the phone.  You have to open it like a clam shell from the bottom.  I didn't have high hopes for the battery removal, most devices remember for a long time where they were and just return to that state.

However, the easy way to do this is go to Settings in the Menu and scroll down the Settings Menu until you get to Reset. This gives you two reset options, one for the Handset and the other for the Base Station.  Select Handset and it gives further options including "Out of the Box".  This returns the handset to the very first thing you see to Register this handset to the Hub.  You can then do the regular thing with the WPS button.

Thought I'd post this on here in case someone else has the same problem.
