I have just set up a phone set for a neighbour of mine which uses Truecall blocking.
I have added known callers to the address book on the phone (including mine).
But when I test this by calling from my number it goes to truecall blocking instead of straight through to the phone.
When I check the 'called numbers' after my call, my number shows as unknown instead of my mobile number.
I beleive (and as per the manual) that known numbers are not blocked or vetted so why is this happening?
The only thing i can think of is that when I set up the phone I said 'yes' to the caller id option. but I am unsure if my neighbour actually has this facility. Could this be the cause?

Welcome to this user forum for BT Retail phone and broadband customers.
It would mean that caller ID is not enabled on their phone service.
They need to contact their phone provider to get it enabled.
Are they BT Retail customers?
yes they are
so it won't work without caller id?
If caller id isn't used (i.e. switched off)then it would still be the same?
There is no way it could work without caller ID being enabled on the line.
Dial *#234# from their phone, and see what it says.
ok, thanks. I'll get it done.
