I have noticed on my bill for my pay as you go landline that each month there is a charge of £3.23 I just wondered what this is for? I am not using my landline but if I do then its charged for the usage. Is this for line rental? I thought that line rental was included in my broadband package price. BT can you advise, or anyone else? Thank you
when you selected your package you could have either broadband or broadband with phone. you have obviously selected broadband with phone and the additional charge is for the facility of being able to make/receive calls on your home phone. you could also select a call package or as you have done decided on PAYG
I used to have unlimited minutes with my Broadband..when I came to renewal that package ceased to exist. It was all payg, BT probably realised most landline subscribers don't actually use it so this way they still gain financially.
Thanks, and yes, this makes sense
if most people don't use the landline then they can select broadband only. however many people still want a home phone and can select PAYG or the add-on unlimited minutes. often customers make few phone calls and really want the phone facility to receive calls
