Re: digital voice email and not even on FTTP here yet

No, what is the point of repeating ad nausem the same tired mantra that achieves nothing and helps nobody.

I have received the same email today and there is no mention of FTTP at all and is only about converting to DV.

I do not understand why there is need for an engineer as it only requires a change of hub and moving the phone plug. Unless being over 80 BT think we are all gaga and cannot do the simple job.

I suspect it is just the usual ineptitude of BT sending out the wrong email.

Being naturally suspicious and cynical I suggest it might be a way of persuading you to have FTTP without explicitly stating it, which would, of course, explain the need for an (Openreach) "engineer".

I'm perfectly happy with FTTC + DV, and intend to resist FTTP for as long as I can.

FTTP is not available in this area yet.

I think BT just use the same email for two different things and haven't got the sense to see it confuses people.

@GeoffSmith this is apperantly only required if need i pointed out to them that as per the help pages this is done remotely and adviser said appoinment only needed if help is required to set it up but that not what the email states

fttp isnt here either yet so cant be that if i get anymore email ill just leave it

so if anyone else get this email for tell them a openreach isny needed if it only to setup the router ig you have a problem

Well, you've been making an average of 8 posts a day on this forum for the last 13 years, so you probably have heard it a million times before. If you find that boring there are at least 2 things you can do: 1) Don't read this forum all the time, and 2) don't feel obliged to reply to posts, especially if you find it all so tedious.

Meanwhile, there will continue to be a continuous stream of confused, misled, anxious, stupid, clever, people coming here to ask what to them are new questions, hoping for some help. They are the ones who need & deserve this forum, and the last thing they need is to be insulted and made to feel like idiots.

You seem to have missed the 8757 Kudos received and 2154 solutions authored in helping forum members.

There are folks that come to this forum to seek assistance and others that just want to whinge.

Well the two weeks have been and gone and nothing has happened, except I have today received the same information in the post. Letter dated August 2025 (no day).

Incidentally in both email and letter it says I will get a battery backup, is this old information or have they gone back to supplying them?
