Hi, i switched to VM 2 months ago and requested for them to get my old landline number back from BT. They were so incompetent that i called about 5 times and each time they said someone didn't fill in the form properly/BT didn't reply etc until they took SO long that BT actually disconnected my landline!! We've had this for 20 years and it's the only number our relatives across the world have for us, (apart from one mobile number). Is there ANY way at all of getting the number back from BT??? something similar happened with an EE mobile number and they were so lovely in assisting me so i'm hoping that I can get this resolved with BT too
this is something you need to take up with Virgin as you are no longer a bt customer
You could only get it back if you moved back to BT, assuming you are still living at the same address when BT first gave you your number.
Alternatively you could get an extra line installed from BT, assuming the address is as explained above.
BT would own your number.
Yes I was thinking that but then I have to pay for four months of my package with VM as a “cancellation fee” and they already took double payment in the first month. Honestly so disgusting
It may be cheaper to simply have a phone line installed by BT, and just keep the TV/Broadband with VM. VM may let you just cancel the phone part, as they were the one that failed to port the number over.
Remember that their network it totally separate from BTs, so you should have an extra socket in the property somewhere, which is labelled either BT or Openreach.
