192.168.1.254 is insecure site, what does this mean?

Go to solution

Hi to all

Wishing to change the admin password for my new BT router, I had to return to web page @ 192.168.1.254 (my issued default admin pw was denied) but the security warning, as per attached image, was presented.  If the site is insecure, how can the password be safely changed?  What have I missed here?

Best wishes

You've missed that the hub manager is only accessible via your LAN and therefore HTTPS is not required and is perfectly safe to access it via HTTP
