24 & 5GHZ query

Help please.

I have a WD device which is very slow with my BT5 HUB connected by cable as a network.

In my PC network map the default is 2.4GHZ connection. ie with cable connection I see on my PC BT HuB5-***

If connected without cable using  wiFi it is much faster and is using 5GHZ. on PC network map i see BT Hub5-***GHZ

Can I make the 5GHZ frequency to be used for cable network operation?

Thanks for looking

Re: 24 & 5GHZ query

2.4Ghz and 5Ghz refer purely to wireless operation. If you connect by Ethernet, it has no meaning.

Re: 24 & 5GHZ query

Thanka for replying. I am trying to see why image transfers from PC to WD are at about 1.4MB/s using ethernet yet 12-14 MB/s by wireless connection. PC has Gigabit card and cable being used directly from hub is the new one which came with the kit. Tried ethernet mains plugs, same result.

Obviously not a BT Hub problem but seemed a way to go having spent much time trying to find something amiss with the WDMyCloud.
