Re: 31.55.185.177 - 91 % packet loss.

Hi I am having the same problem, we just had an Openreach engineer out but other than some corroded contacts on the box at the pole the line is now testing fine. When we try to play multi-player games the packet loss is so bad its kicking us from the game. I am using Pingplotter to find where the problem is and it would seem to be between our router (non-bt hub) and Openreach VDSL2 modem to the server/router in London ip 31.55.185.177  Packet loss is between 70% and 98% any chance someone could check the server/router in London?

Re: 31.55.185.177 - 91 % packet loss.

Do you know that it's a BT device? The fact is doesn't respond to pings doesn't mean it's faulty. Lots of network equipmentt is configured to ignore icmp packets as they're not really priority traffic.

Re: 31.55.185.177 - 91 % packet loss.

Would the packet loss not be 100% if it is set to ignore ping requests? It is one of the 1st IP's my router connects to after my home router so i assume it belongs to or is used by BT. Any idea what could cause random packet loss spikes causing our internet to 'lag out' then the devices in the house show the warning triangle i assume the router issues new ips?
