3rd party asus router

Go to solution

Hi

I've just revised my router password (as I'd forgotten it) on Asus RT-AC88U. Through vigor 130 modem, was all working fine, now it's not as there is a BT error message  that says:

(Under ip: http//194.74.65.98/index.html)

SERVICE INFORMATION

You have been connected to this page due to one of the following reasons;

Your service provider is unable to accept your connection request, please wait and reattempt later contact your ISP.

BT haven't been much help, just asked me to plug in bt hub..

Any help appreciated

Your login details should be be broadbanduser@btbroadband.com and a password of bt

The message you are seeing is because it cannot identify you as a BT Broadband customer.

I've done that and rebooted. It all worked.

Shame bt's call centre couldn't have told me that.  Thanks Keith!

They have no need to know it, BT home hubs are supplied with username and password hard coded.

BT cannot provide support for 3rd party routers, which is why it would not be in their script.
