That’s great, glad everything is working okay for you now 👍
Yes indeed, great to know its worked for you guys.
I wonder... does Web Protect rely on using BT's own DNS servers, and once you use a third party then its non functional anyway. No idea on that one.
I spoke too soon.
Halfway through doing a Tesco order on the ipad & it dropped out again.
Laptop also had access denied, but the mobile seemed ok.
Reboot of the router fixed things.
I'll be contacting BT in the morning.
Hi did you try openDNS settings,
Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), then click the Properties button. Click the radio button "Use the following DNS serveraddresses:" and type in OpenDNSaddresses, 208.67. 222.222 and 208.67. 220.220, in the Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server fields.
you will have to change all your devices that you use that your having issues on including your iPad 👍,
hope this helps.
Cheers, I'll give it a go
That tbh sounds a bit different to your original issue which was being unable to connect to several different sites. Dropping out while already connected sounds like something else is going on, and if it was a one off on one site (Tesco) then it may be a site issue and not your set up on this occasion.
Changing the DNS service provider seems to work. Thanks for that. However, for those who only have the problem with an infrequent site the Tor browser (https://www.torproject.org/download/) masks your IP address by bounces your traffic around the internet to hide you so slow, but is a quick and less technical fix.
