Re: Access to GoDaddy hosted website times-out/no response when accessed via BT ISP

I've tried tweeting both of them with links to this thread and the GoDaddy one. They need to actually talk to one another.

Works OK on BT using BT DNS and HH6..  https://fitfestoxford.com/   www.fitfestoxford.com/ gets changed to https://

http://www.fitfestoxford.com doesn’t work for me. Still no response to my tweets from either godaddy or BT. Next step, moving to a new hosting service.

The https:/www. will not work...  They way your WEB site is setup yo need to make some setting changes

http://fitfestoxford.com this will work but if you want http://www.fitfestoxford.com then you need to change some settings

Re: Access to GoDaddy hosted website times-out/no response when accessed via BT ISP

@jeb0007

The website is already setup to work correctly in that respect. The A record and CNAME for www are setup to point to the same IP. There are 301 redirects in place to cater for anybody accessing the site with or without www and with or without HTTPS. This is standard practice and prevents duplicate content issues when the site is indexed.

Thanks for your contribution but this is NOT the issue.

As others have said, it seems to be a block of IP addresses that BT has blocked.

BT are unwilling to acknowledge this. GoDaddy can't (or won't) do anything about it so we're stuck...

Exactly! I can access all my Wordpress sites hosted by GoDaddy as long as I am not using anything to do with BT. As neither company looks like they want to listen to us or do anything about it, perhaps it's time to escalate it somehow? Any suggestions? The press?

Re: Access to GoDaddy hosted website times-out/no response when accessed via BT ISP

Hi All,

I've been in touch with our networking team. They've tested it extensively since last week. They've let me know that the Customers IP address has been blocked by Go Daddy. You will need to contact Go Daddy directly. Out of the tests we've done we have had no issues accessing it.

Thanks

DanielS

With respect, Daniel, everyone in this thread has taken it up directly with GoDaddy. GoDaddy are telling us that it is a BT problem not their problem. Why can BT not talk directly to GoDaddy?

BT are obviously saying it is not their problem it is a GoDaddy who is doing the blocking so did you ask GoDaddy the same question?
