im currently using the BT smart hub with my wireless internet but my telephone socket is not in the best place and I don’t have any power outlets within the close vicinity, therefore I’m using the telephone extension socket in my bedroom which is in the corner of the house. I’m struggling to get signal in the points of the house furthest away from the hub. I’m getting speeds of around 30mbp which isn’t a problem and I’ve tried plug in booster but noticed very little difference.
I'm looking at replacing the hub with a third party modem router in hope of getting better coverage. I don’t do gaming but I do have a lot of devices connected to the WiFi (light switches, iPads, iPhones, doorbells, smart watches etc.)
Any recommendations on a router modem without breaking the bank?
A third party router may or may not provide the solution, whilst it may have slightly better wifi coverage there won't be a massive difference. All routers emit the same wifi power as that is governed by law, the only difference is better aerial design and external rather than internal aerials. have you considered strategically placed wifi hotspot powerline adaptors such as these https://shop.bt.com/products/bt-mini-wi-fi-home-hotspot-600-multi-kit-084289-BVFH.html
I doubt replacing the hub with another router will make a great deal of difference to your wireless coverage at the other end of your home do you have any other extension sockets nearer middle of your home?
Not sure what the ' boosters' are but if they are WiFi repeaters they are a poor solution. The powerline hotspots work just fine as long as your mains wiring is ok.
