Archer VR2800 & fibre to property

Morning,

We had our engineer visit yesterday to install fibre to property but haven't yet received the BT router so are trying to connect our existing TP Link router but with no success.

Have done a factory reset, tried set up wizard and a step by step set up. It is recognising that it is a BT VDSL connection but no joy in actually connecting.

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks

if you got FTTP are you connecting ONT to the WAN port on the router?   the username and password are as before

bthomehub@btbroadband.com

password if needed just use BT

Re: Archer VR2800 & fibre to property

So openreach came to your home and put the fibre through the wall and fitted a small white box called an ONT ? On this ONT there will be lights like Power, LOS, PON and PORT. If PON is lit solid and LOS is off then your link is up and ready for you, if LOS is flashing, its not yet been connected.

If activated, plug the WAN connection of the router to this ONT. You then need to set the router to a PPPoE connection over its WAN port and put the username and password in (as above)

If you dont have the small white ONT, then you dont have fibre installed to your house (FTTP) and might have fiber to the cabinet (FTTC) and your VDSL connection probably doesnt have the right username and password.

When was/is your activation date ?
