Re: Asus RT-AC5300

Ok, you have a G.Fast service. G.Fast modems are very few and far between. Easier to stick with the home hub and sell the Asus on Ebay

Re: Asus RT-AC5300

He needs to buy a stand-alone modem like "NETGEAR DM200 30£" to connect RT-AC5300.

Re: Asus RT-AC5300

@TheOven Err no, he needs to buy a standalone G.Fast modem which the Netgear isn't. Please don't post incorrect information.

Re: Asus RT-AC5300

G.fast same coper wired connection like DSL but with more power comes through.
NETGEAR DM200 Delivers download speeds up to 100 Mbps (with ISP service support) He can't use the DM200 to connect RT-AC5300.

Re: Asus RT-AC5300

What is G.fast? FTTP takes a high-capacity optical fibre cable all the way to your home, but in a G.fast setup the fibre only goes as far as your local PCP street cabinet and then runs to your home via an existing copper line. G.fast can make use of 106-212MHz of spectrum and thus delivers its best speeds for those within c.200-300 metres of a cabinet.

Re: Asus RT-AC5300

Yes, we know what G.Fast is but you apparently don't know which modems are compatible.

Re: Asus RT-AC5300

Google G.Fast modems and see what you can find, they are very few and expensive.

The Asus is just a router so a separate modem is required.
