We have put together a short survey to capture your feedback in terms of what BT can do when you experience home Wi-Fi issues. We would appreciate it if you could take a couple of minutes to complete a short survey. Read more from here, Fix my home Wi-Fi
Hi, hope someone can assist please!
I have BT broadband and BT mobile contract for my Android phone. I'm going to France shortly and can get most of the internet access I need via my mobile, which is generally pretty good 4G but sometimes it would be easier to use my laptop. I've looked for the nearest FON hotspot to the French address and think it's perhaps 100yards away.
Someone has suggested to me that I might be able to buy a booster to improve the signal so I could use the laptop. Does anyone know what/where I could buy this please?
Alternatively, I've heard of the phone being used as a mobile hotspot. Does anyone know if this would work on an Android phone and how I would set this up please?
Sorry, I'm not very technical, so answers in simple steps would be appreciated please! TIA

I wouldn't rely on being able to access the Fon hotspot, always very iffy in my experience.
Hi Stew, it's a Nokia 3.1.
Yes, done that now. Showing Hotspot on, 0 devices connected, so guess that's the next step.
Try connection something to your phone to check it works. Don’t forget to turn it off when you don’t need it.
I've gone into my laptop and under internet settings have disconnected wifi box, then clicked on mobile hotspot. It's still showing 0 devices connected on the phone. I've tried turring wi-fi hotspot off and on again on the phone, but no joy.
Any ideas please?
