Re: BT Home Hub 5 (Type A) | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.264

Ok, so 5GHz seems to be back, devices have connected again, just thinking through changes I have made, turned off Sync to 2.4Hz and turned back on again when there was no effect, disabled ULA under IPv6 Configuration and under devices I deleted the orphaned not connected devices.

I hope that helps, Hub version has not changed, checked logs and cannot see anything . . . hope the above helps, going to keep monitoring and hope for the best.

Re: BT Home Hub 5 (Type A) | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.264

I've been helping the BT people with some new screen designs and in conversing with sean today I mentioned these issues. I see licquorice has also spoken to them. I am not normally one who can ask the mods to intervene but hopefully Sean will have a look if he has time and no one is on the case.

If it is just 5G wifi then its fortunately not affecting us here in rainy Wilts but only because we have tplink decos providing our wifi  and have the wifi turned off on the HH5A. Anyway hopefully a mod will be along soon

Re: BT Home Hub 5 (Type A) | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.264

Its probably nothing but I have been getting a lot more TR069 entries since the changes. A really wierd one I've not seen before here in my log for today its much longer than it has been over the last few months now!.

(73109.100000) CWMP: Download file, FileType=4, FileName=hh5a-v13_4-complete.tar.gz.aes.rsa.signed, Username=, CommandKey=124639930030

Here is the whole tr069 log for today. I wondered if the entries above were more firmware changes but the date of the updates did not change from yesterday 4/3/2019. The 5G and 2.4 errors are as I said due to my having them turned off so they always fail at that point. I have had it turned off for over a year since we setup the DECO's.

Hopefully this may help with diagnosis if anyone does look at this for Neil. If not sorry if this just confuses.

Re: BT Home Hub 5 (Type A) | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.264

thanks, your logs are interesting, like mine the seem to show what appear to be setting changes but what is really interesting is yours shows an attempt to turn on\ enable the 5GHz wifi.

Re: BT Home Hub 5 (Type A) | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.264

Other things I've tried
Synced 2.4 and 5ghz - I normally don't have then synced.
Forced several different channels to turn off smart channel select.
And I think I turned off ipv6 but can't remember if I actually did that one.

Re: BT Home Hub 5 (Type A) | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.264

I'm not going to be back home to play with any settings or to try anything else for a few days but as far as I am aware the problem still exsists. I've just connected to my home computer to see if there's been an update but there hasn't. I meant to connect a raspberry pi to the network while I'm away and see if I can connect to that but didn't have the time so no more info - sorry guys...

Yeah I put them there for the BT poeple if they are interested. Don't get too locked into the 5gz and 2.4ghz items they are not new for me they are as a result of turning the wifi off as I don;t need it with the "house bathed in wifi" I think thats the term deco use. We have been using them for over a year. They are not that great some days, especially if I try to send quite a bit of data from down stairs to upstair on the 2.4 channels. Wifeys laptop is only 2.4 based.

Re: BT Home Hub 5 (Type A) | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.264

I have the same issue which started a couple of days ago, 5gz is now useless when it had been fine for 2 years.
