BT Mini Connectors - Wired Connection

I've FTTP and I have two BT Mini Connectors, am I right in thinking that once I have a desktop or laptop computer in the upstairs bedroom and wish to use the broadband wired connection instead of wireless WiFi do I connect one BT Mini Connector beside the BT Hub to a wall socket then connect ethernet cable to mini connector and and to port on hub, then connect the second mini connector upstairs to wall socket and connect the second ethernet cable to the computer.

Have I got all this correct?

Re: BT Mini Connectors - Wired Connection

That is correct. You have two Ethernet ports available on the mini connector.

Re: BT Mini Connectors - Wired Connection

Thanks, and having two ports on the connector means I could connect two computers or laptops? I know you can get more connectors of course. 😉

If for any reason I find the WiFi to be poor upstairs, rather than change to 2.4ghz for longer range is a WiFi extender different to those BB ones?

Re: BT Mini Connectors - Wired Connection

If you need more ports, then you can plug an Ethernet switch into one of the Ethernet ports of the mini connector.

If you need better wireless coverage, then you simply plug in a wireless access point into a spare port.

Wireless access point?
You mentioned mini hub, I'm using the smart hub.

I meant mini connectors, as described on that other thread. I will edit my post.

Thanks.
Where would I obtain wireless access points?

Plenty of places, Amazon is one. This link on my website has the setup info.

Using a TP Link WA701ND or WA801ND (better) as a wireless access point.

Are you connected to your home BT Broadband connection (not BT mobile)?
