I was interested to see that the new Smart Hub/HH6 has DNSOmatic as an option for Dynamic DNS updates. However has anyone actually got this working as the hub restricts the use of special characters in the account password, yet DNSOmatic appears to require a special character when updating the password..!
Any thoughts/guidance gratefully received..

Seems a bit odd for the hub to prevent entry of characters which are valid/accepted by the supporting service though, any plans for this to be corrected in the future?
The issue is with the underlying code that the firmware is based on. There are quite a number of reserved characters that are used within the internal CLI (command line interface) which cannot be passed via the web interface.
Portions of the code are open source. A list is here, but I don`t think its up to date, but the HH6 code is very close the the HH5 anyway.
In the earlier home hubs, the input error checking was quite poor, and it was quite easy to crash. lockup the home hub, or get unpredicatable results by entering invalid characters via the web interface :smileysad:
The error checking has improved over the years, but the underlying code is not likely to be changed, because it works.
