BT Smart Hub with a Netgear D7000v2 as a slave via Cat 6 cable

I have a BT smart hub in the house and connected via cat 6 cable a Nighthawk D7000v2 in my new annex some 50 meters away. The WiFi keeps dropping in and out in both locations.

when I told BT they supplied a wholehome dual band AC2600 unit which when connected via the Cat6 cable gives OK WiFi but no opportunity to hardwire smart TV's etc. So I would really want the Nighthawk to work. I am not that technical.

Give the Nighthawk an address of 192.168.1.10, disable DHCP and connect a LAN port on the hub to a LAN port on the Nighthawk.
