BT Vision, BT Infinity and Apple Airport Time Capsule

currently I have a hub5  receiving the outside internet connection-

this distributes wifi to the home  + internet to the youview humax box by an ethernet cable

connected to this is a time capsule -solely used for time machine backup from a mac;

a power line ethernet cable connects to the mac

I'd like to achieve this :

bt hub 5 distributing to the humax by wired connection as above

continue with ethernet link to mac + time machine back up  to TC

hpme wif distribution i from time capsule only

use OpenDNS on time capsule in place of bt DNS service

are there any problems doing this?

can I just turn off wireless on the hub5 + alter the TC settings + set up OpenDNS on it

many thanks for your expert comments

Re: BT Vision, BT Infinity and Apple Airport Time Capsule

yep - that would work PROBABLY but why not connect HH5 to the TC and everything else from the TC (and turn off wifi on the HH5)? That way effectively the HH is acting ad a modem and the TC is doig all the routing?

For OpenDNS you can edit the TC to use DNS servers.

Re: BT Vision, BT Infinity and Apple Airport Time Capsule

wld that interfere with the bt hub to humax box ethernet feed ,which I believe is important to avoid router specoific dropouts?

cheers

Don't know.

Try both ways.
