BT Voyager 210 - poor connectivity

Go to solution

Hi

I'd really appreciate some help in replacing my BT 210 router ( it's rubbish ! ) with a Netgear N300 as it disconnects every day, on/off/on/off.... I bought the N300 in PC World and the very helpful assistant said I will need to contact BT during the installation for a code ( I think ! ). This is because the N300 will not know that I am a BT customer ? I think that's what he meant  ! I am  going to use the N300 as a wired router.

Thanks

Bloke was talking tosh. Just plug it in and go. Username is anything@btbroadband.com, if the router asks for a password, you can enter anything as it is not needed by BT as they authenticate against your phone number.

You also need to set it to pppoA as it is probably set at pppoE and use username and password already posted and should connect
