BT Whole Home: Using fixed links from each disc back to a BT Home Hub router

Rather than relying on the wireless mesh as a transport backbone, can I connect each disc via a fixed link (and switches eg a fixed LAN)  back to the router and still retain mesh behavious for any wireless device connected to a disc?

Yes you can. I've just switched over to this myself.

Wired backhaul has sorted out multiple issues with my installation. You get the full potential of the system when used in this way. Out of the three discs, one still elects itself as the master disc for the mesh and everything just behaves properly.

Make sure all discs are on the same subnet. If you have them on separate subnets the discs won't find each other.
