Out of the box, before connecting the extender to your hub or router the IP address is 192.168.1.1.
Once connected, the extender will get its IP address from your hub/router.

 

If you have access to another hub or router whose IP address is NOT 192.168.1.1 - you can try connecting the wifi extender to this hub/router so it acquires a new IP address (which should not be 192.168.1.1). You'll then be able to connect the wifi extender to the Netgear.

 

Note: I don't own a wifi extender, so cannot confirm if the above will work - it's worth a try...
