I discovered a) that I could only successfully access BBC IPlayer for free and that b) other channels would require a fee of £1.10 for each 'Catch-up" item - quite contrary to the free access promised in my essentials TV package. Indeed, even if I were to want to pay this fee for an item, it would be denied me until I 'reregistered'. But, having followed the fairly involved directions to do so, I then received the message 'OOPS, there's been an error! Try again later!' Failing to reach a helpful human voice by 'phone, I sought local knowledge from friends and family. Apparently, there is a general difficulty with BT in our Scottish town - due to 'recent electric storms - relaying of cables -whatever' and I and others are having difficulties because broadband sppeds are too low. My question - what can I do - or will BT have recognised the general problem and restore the Broadband speeds - or must I fly up to SKY?
