Broadband usage allowance

I received an email from BT today saying that because last month I exceeded my usage,I used 11gb[my limit is  10gb],I will be charged an extra £5 next month. This is the first time I have exceeded my usage allowance, BT's usage allowance policy used to say that no one would be charged for exceeding the first time. However I can no longer find this information in the policy, has it recently been omitted?

Re: Broadband usage allowance

Looks like it was amended in Feb of this year so you will have to pay. Didn't you get any warning emails - if not maybe you use that as an argument to get the charge waived.

If you are opted in to BTWiFi then you can use this as a buffer - 10,000 minutes per month - the download speeds may be close to what you get - in my case 5.80 ( wired is 6.35).
