It's because the BT (and Google) DNS servers haven't been updated yet, whereas Open DNS and the servers other ISPs use have. Hopefully it should just be a matter of time before the servers get updated.
@Unbelievable Site now accessible with both BT and Google DNS servers.
absolutely no difference
have used 'clean' pc did ipconfig /flushdns
set the network adapter to opensdns servers for IPV4
rebooted
still no change
had my daughter check other end of the country via her wifi and site loads fine on mobile (connected to plusnet router)
no access from ipad or any PC - exactly that same since saturday afternoon ☹️
are you using a HH6 or smart hub or a different router ?
Smart hub 2, but router is irrelevant.
Just tried the site again and getting a 404 this morning
I can still see it. I also did a Google search, it came up in the hits and I got in that way.
ah ok - that's a blow
someone mentioned that they were using a non BT router and could access the site hence my suspicions about a standard BT setup
I've had confirmation from the hosting company that they do not block/filter any incoming IP addresses
do you know of any way I can escalate this within BT ?- just the weirdest problem I've ever seen
@Unbelievable I don't use a BT router/HH - just a modem and a Deco M5 set - best wifi I've ever had.
unfortunately that is showing the initial wordpress page from mid saturday afternoon and the links are the 'old' ones
I can see all that but what I can't do is click on the google link (without my VPN) and gain access to the site or even have the site load it just returns 404
