Change of ISP

Hi. We have an account with EE for our Wi-Fi and had some difficulty getting connected the other day.  My friend received an email from me and said my IP address was different and showed a BT  ip address.  Does anyone know why?

Perhaps it is because BT own EE and BT Mobile uses the EE network while EE broadband uses the BT network?
