Changing from Fibre Halo 1 to Full Fibre 500 Halo 3

Go to solution

Hi all,

Excuse my ignorance- If I switch from Fibre Halo 1 to Full Fibre 500 Halo 3, do I need new equipment and does an engineer have to put a small box on the outside of my house?

I'm out working every day so having to sign for equipment AND being in for the engineer is a bit inconvenient. Also, my house has a "weird" design so the box wouldnt fit where the current cable goes in.

Thanks 🙂

Conor

All this Halo stuff is just a marketing ploy, if you're on FTTP (Full Fibre) already and have an SH2 then you don't need any new equipment and there will be no home visit.

Yes, you will require a CSP (customer splice point)  to be fitted on the outside of the property and an ONT (optical modem) to be fitted on the inside. Is your existing copper service an underground or overhead cable.

Do you currently have FTTC, copper to the house or FTTP full fibre to the house?

Its an overhead cable. The builder put a small arch on the front of the house and the gap between it and the other wall is too small for the box.

simple  if you have fttc then upgrading to FTTP means you need engineer visit but if you already have FTTP then no visit required
