Chromecast Can't Connect to new SmartHub2

Good afternoon,

I'd love it if anybody could help me.

I've recently had a new router sent from BT, it is the SmartHub 2.

It works fine but I just can not get my Chromecast to work with it.  If I follow the setup procedure, I get as far as to choose the wifi network and then it never connects to the new wifi.

 

I have tried all of the usual tricks

gone to 192.168.1.254  and turned off smart hub

Restarting the Smart Hub

Tried just using either 2.4 or 5 5 bands but neither seems to work.

 

Has anybody got any further advice or tips for me to try please?

Did you previously use a BT hub.

I don't have a Smarthub 2 so I can not confirm this is possible but ff you did previously use a BT hub you could try renaming the Smarthub to have the same name and password as your previous one and your wireless devices should hopefully just re-connect.

Hello, I managed to solve this. In the end, I used another device to attempt to set up the chromecast. It didn't work but it allowed me to access the chromecast from the device and perform a factory reset on the chromecast. This managed to make everything work perfectly again. Many thanks to everybody for their input.

I believe there is a recessed factory reset button on Chromecast devices to allow for a new setup.
