Comtrend Powerline Adapters ?!! - Adding new 'slave'

I wish to add a new adapter, to my current pair.  After fiddling around - i can link any two units working fine.

However when i try to add a third unit (following the user manual) - the second unit status light changes to red - i cant seem to get all three running together !!

HELP 😕

Comtrend Powerline Ethernet Adapters - extra one(s)

Hi

I've got the normal two Comtrend Powerline Ethernet Adapters working on my BT Hub/Vision box...no problem

If i want to install a third unit in (say) a bedroom - so that I can access the internet through it - do i need to use just ONE of the additional set?

OR

if i plug in both units around the house, will they find access to the internet automatically, or do I need to link them to the existing units?

is the operation difficult?

Please advise...

Many thanks

Re: Comtrend Powerline Ethernet Adapters - extra one(s)

You can easily add more Comtrend units, if you can get hold of them.

You can add just a single one if you wish, provided you configure it so that it will communicate with the existing pair.

Press the config button, on the adaptor showing the AP light, until the AP light flashes.

Whilst the AP light is flashing press the config button on the new adaptor until its AP light flashes.

It should flash about three times and then turn off.

Repeat this for each new adaptor.

Its best to do this with the new adapter plugged in close to the "AP" adapter.

(my bold)

Just a bit of friendly advice

Be very careful when purchasing these from an Internet auction site.

Email the seller and ask to ensure that they are still working correctly, ask them to give you the serial numbers on the back of them (so you have it in writing) and also ask them to plug them both in, power them up and send you a picture of the lights operating.

At least by doing this, you have proof if they turn up and don't work.

edit to correct a typo
