Connecting Samsung Internet TV wirelessly or hardwired to Home Hub 3

Have tried to hardwire and wirelessly connect my samsung tv to my home hub 3.0. I have tried to use wps to connect, to set up with auto settings and to set up manually.

I have chosen a 192.168.1.200 as my tv's ip address, subnet mask: 255.255.255.0, Gateway: 192.168.1.254

I have used the gateway as DNS Server and have also tried the primary DNS number found under Broadband heading in BT Home Hub.

On the tv after network set up, in the network test: mac address is fine, ip address, subnet, gateway, dns server are fine; gateway ping fails. It says 'Not connected to the gateway...

Any ideas please

Try using a static IP address outside of the home hubs DHCP range.

Thank you Keith

Unfortunately it didn't make any difference. The tv's ping gateway test continues to fail on either hardwired or wireless.
