I bought a new router not HH which did not solve the problem.

The problem is probably not your router or your own set up.

 

Out situation miraclously cured itself on our HH3/ADSL installation and we now have Infinity too and things are more stable  - it seems like there is a probelm with DNS resolution at some node in the BT infrastructure that affects people in areas being upgraded.

 

If it persists then phone BT and try to talk to a human (quite likely that first and 2nd line support will struggle to see the problem but you might be lucky) and be persistent with hard facts and information to hand
