I was recently sent out a new Smart Hub 2 for renewing Superfast Fibre Unlimited. With this the connection was going to be tested again. Now that the connection has been tested I am getting ping spikes constantly. If I ping google though command prompt I will usually get 30-35ms ping with very frequent pings over 500ms, sometimes hitting over 1000ms.
I am using the Master Socket, I have tried plugging the router into the test socket which made no difference, factory resetting the Hub, turning off disconnecting everything from the hub and running a ping test. I have also tried running the ping test with multiple PCs and devices. There doesn't appear to be any noise on the phone line.
I have also ran the BT Troubleshooter which comes back with no issue.
There is nothing you can do about it from your end. This is an issue within BT core network, I've been suffering from ping spikes for over a month now and tried new router, changed the socket, new cables nothing worked.
