DNS servers and parental Controls

Go to solution

OK - there are some answers here, but from a few years ago.  So two questions

As of 2020, can you change the DNS server on whatever kit BT may send me as a new user?

And if you engage the BT Family safety features, does that still block all non-BT DNS servers

Cheers

All BT loaned equipment is locked to BT, but you can change them on your own equipment.

BT Web protect does not block other DNS server anymore.

Many thanks - So for full protection I need to ensure child devices don't get set to nonBT DNS and for those odd occasions, like I had last week, where my current ISP DNS had MASSIVE pings on gaming, I can change my PC to Google.

Sounds good
