Does my old BT line work?

Hi

We moved in to our house three years ago and signed up with Virgin Media.

We are now looking at moving away from Virgin Media but are not sure if the BT phone lines that were here when we moved in still work, is there an easy way to find out?

Can't seem to get a dialling tone from them

Thanks in advance

Re: Does my old BT line work?

the line will be dead but could be reactivated if you move to an ISP that uses openreach which virtually all apart from virgin  you would need to place an order

Re: Does my old BT line work?

Try plugging in a phone , you will not have dial tone but try to dial 150, if the line is connected but just turned off you can still dial 999 and 150 , I believe so 150 would go to BT sales.
