ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH on trying to access Onedrive
About 8 weeks ago I started getting an SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP error on Firefox and ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH error on Chrome when trying to access OneDrive (https://onedrive.live.com/about/en-gb/signin/) through a BT Router, both on my Windows 10 laptop and Chromebook. I have no issues accessing any other site, secure or otherwise.
Flushing all the caches does get me on some times, but it soon reverts back to the same error. Interestingly, if I just refresh the page, it does sometimes get me on, but only for a few minutes at a time, which is obviously unworkable. I've tried switching off Smart Setup on the router, but to no avail. I've tried switching Parental Controls off, again, no success (interestingly, you can't add a site with https into the allowed sites, only http).
Given I can access fine from work and the rest of the world is able to access Onedrive without issue, the only common factor is the BT Router. I've come across a similar report (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/onedrive-secure-connection-failed/1a04e86e-5d...) where MS have suggested the problem lies with the BT router. BT have suggested changing the Router mode from 1 to 3, however I've got a BT Home Hub 5, which has no options for changing the mode. Have spoken to BT and they're sending me a replacement router to see if that helps, but after that it's either paid support from them (evidently not classed as a network issue) or paying to upgrade my router.
Edit: I've just switched off parental controls, tested it again and still wasn't able to connect. I've just switched parental controls on again and I'm in.... Not sure if this has resolved it permanently, or just until the next time when I need to access something urgently.... But it makes me think that it might be related to the way that requests are handled through the parental controls functionality.
