Ethernet cabling

I want to get my computer setup with an ethernet cable and I found a socket labelled NTEC5 MK2.

Can I just buy a CAT8 which seems to be a high speed cable directly connected to my computer?

I already have a fibre broadband setup wired from the outside towards another location in the house for the router and TV.

And if I could directly setup from the NTEC5 socket, what do I need to do for multiple setups?

Thanks!

Re: Ethernet cabling

Not sure what you are trying to achieve here. NTE 5 is a telephone socket, Ethernet is not available until you reach the Smarthub (unless you have full fibre).

Can you provide more detail about what you are trying to achieve?

Re: Ethernet cabling

The computer needs to connect to the home hub (router) not the telephone socket you found.
