Extending my Wireless range around the house

Hi all.

Could anyone give some advice please.

My router is placed in a room in the upstairs of the house, but the wifi signal I get in the back kitchen downstairs is not that good si I need to improve it.

I am running a Netgear Dual Band WNDR3700 v2 cable modem router and I would like to know which would be the best wifi extender for me to use. I don't really want to go down the Home Plug option.

Any help in advance would be gratefully appreciated.

Wifi repeaters do slow down the throughput, and can be unreliable.

I beg to disagree I use a buffalo N300 wireless ethernet bridge and works fine
Try to find an old version netgear n600 desktop version should work fine with your router

A Wi-Fi repeater is a very inefficient method of achieving your objective.

Yes, a much better option, and very popular.

Re: Extending my Wireless range around the house

Looks like more homeplugs for you a wireless extender dual band works fine if you can use the bands separately
Typically you use the 5GHZ to connect to base and then use the 2.4 ghz to extend as it goes through walls more easily.
However once you look at spending more than £50 you may consider a better router

I have a netgear 7000 right in the middle of the property that is around 160 sqm i get signal in the garden and outside the house without any extender and I am at limit of interfering with neighbours
