FTTP, Super Hub 2 and M9 Deco Plus

Go to solution

I'm about to rejoin BT and since I was last with them I've acquired 3 Deco M9 Plus pods for a mesh network which works perfectly with my current provider (VM). Moving to BT will mean using the Fibre to property box and have a box that I can connect straight into.

Moving to BT will give me the Super Hub 2 but do I need this if I'm running my network off the M9s? Can I connect an ethernet from the FTTP  box directly into the M9 and completely bypass the router?

Would I need to change any of the settings on the M9? I also rely on port forwarding so would this still be enabled?

You will need to use the SH2 if you require a voice service as Digital Voice is only available via the SH2.

Otherwise you just need to enter the generic PPPoE login details of username bthomehub@btbroadband.com and password BT on the M9 and connect it directly to the ONT.

Yep. You will be "double natted" which may or may not be a problem for you.

Hi - Can I double check that the Deco M9 Plus will negate the need to use the BT hub, connect directly to the mini OLT, and also work with BT TV?

I ask as  I've seen a customer post saying that the Deco M9 plus doesn't allow for BT TV. Something to do with 'IGMP proxy or snooping capability'.

Thanks!
