FTTP looses fibre connection when uploading files

When I back up photos from my phone to Google photos, after a few minutes the Internet connection drops.

The Internet no longer works for any devices connected to the router.

I have to manually switch off the router and switch it back on to get the router working again.

Is anyone else having this issue and has anyone got a solution?

I live in a new development and all of the equipment was installed by openreach so it is highly unlikely there is an issue with the wiring. The router is the new smart hub

Re: FTTP looses fibre connection when uploading files

Its been reported many times on this forum, in each case its people who are using the smart hub. Try to restrict the upload rate if you can.

Thanks for the reply.

Would you know how to restrict the upload rate on Google photos app?

Also, if this is reported many times, has BT not looked into fixing the problem?

See other thread.

It seems to be a problem with all of the home hubs, possibly a flow control issue, where the hub cannot throttle the incoming data?

You can control the upload speed on Google Drive.
