Re: FTTP to Netgear Nighthawk X6 (R8000)

Yes, all working OK.

Make sure the IP address is set to 192.168.1.1

For some strange reason BT have set their default to 192.168.1.254

@JetLag  What difference does it make what the default IP address of the router is?

@Listo  Make sure IGMP snooping is enabled.

It doesn't, as long as one is aware that it may be different to the default of many other routers!

my netgear router's IP is 192.168.1.1

Do you meant the BT TV box's IP?  if so, not sure how I can change that

There is no need to change any IP addresses. Might be worth resetting the BT TV box though to make sure it picks up the changed gateway address.

Just a quick note, under your internet settings you have dial on demand and 5 mins. You need to change that to always or else your connection will drop when there’s no activity on the line.

No, I'm on Fibre 100. I get around 147mbps. With the SH2, this was considerably less in any room other than where the router was. Now I get a good speed all over the house.
