Fibre 500 slow using my own router, but full speed using BT smart hub 2!

Go to solution

Need some help please! Recently upgraded to full fibre 500 and it was very slow, around 80mb. Engineer came out today and did a load of checks and phone calls and several test, somehow it went up to around 200mb using my own router (My own router has always been fine on the fibre 100 package and gave me 100 to 150mb no issues).

Anyway, we tried the SH2 and it gave 500mb download speeds eventually, but I can't figure out why the tp-link archer ax50 is only achieving max 200-220mb. Settings below if anyone can help!! thanks!!

You need to set QoS mode to “Standard” and remove all device priorities (in the Tether APP device list) to turn QoS off completely.

Wow that worked! Thanks so much. I only had one device on priority which is the ps5, and that's been off for a few weeks. Annoying that it prioritises bandwidth to something that isn't even connected and limits everything else!
