Fttp bvia powerline
Briefly, I have moved my router to another room, connected the ONT to a powerline adapter next to it. Router connected to mains via powerline adapter. All works fine but my router shows 59 Mbps down and I am on 900 Mbps !
I realise the router would get a substantial hit on its speed but hoped not as much as this!
I cannot run a Rj45 cable to the router so am experimenting with this setup.
If I drop my 900 contract to say 500 Mbps deal or less, will the speed at the router fall correspondingly, or get similar to now?
Also is there no improvements I can make using this new setup?
Many thanks,
John

Re: Fttp bvia powerline
Dropping from 900 to 500 will make absolutely zero difference. Your powerline adapters and mains wiring are the limiting factor.

Re: Fttp bvia powerline
Why can't you run an ethernet cable? Even a flat one?
