Full Fibre 500

Just had full fibre 500 installed, new hub arrived late 3 days later (today).

Just got the smart hub 2 up and running, however when i run an ethernet cable directly from hub to my PC

the speed is around 90mbs download.

Wifi on my mobile is around 130mbs, or wifi on PC is around 130mbs.

If i use powerline adaptor BT600 series, PC gets around 50mbs.

All cables are CAT8 cables.

Any suggestions why speed is so low?

Re: Full Fibre 500

Your PC has a 10/100 Lan card rather than GbE ?

Wifi speed could be due to anything. ISPs only guarantee wired speeds, not wifi.

Re: Full Fibre 500

If your PC WiFi adapter is on the PC motherboard, i.e. not a USB plugin type, I would have thought your Ethernet port should be capable of 1Gb speeds, it would have to be quite an old PC not to have a GbE port. Having said that, you should look at the properties or your ethernet  ‘Network adapter’  in ‘Device Manager’ (assuming it’s a windows based PC) and check the port speed settings. I’ve found in the past that while ports are GbE the speed setting is set to 100Mb rather than auto-sensing.  Worth a try anyway.
