The ports are 20 and 21
Is the FTP server on your network or on the Internet somewhere?
It is on the internet some where as i had lots of issues connecting to my ftp through home hub 3.0 , that is why upgrading to hub 5 , Please some one shed some light on ftp connection using hub 5
previous post says closed ports are 0 to 79 is that mean i am not able to connect to my ftp using hub 5 ?
Please look at the other thread you posted. Most incoming ports are blocked, unless they are part of an existing transaction, like http, ftp, etc.
Once a session is closed, the port is closed.
If the FTP server is on the internet then you don't need to open any ports. You only need Port Forwarding if the server is on your network. However, your firewall may still be blocking it.
In addition, the FTP server may be wrongly configured as ACTV but you need it to be PASV as you're using NAT.
i did not understand any thing , can you please make it simple , connecting to my ftp using home hub 5 is it possible or not ?
thanks legitimate , so i can connect , but now i am having problems with my hub 3 that is why i am upgrading to hub 5 thinking i can connect hopefully.....
