Hi Everyone -

I cant see any solution to my problem of OpenRG with HH5 so.. would the -

My current HH plugs into the new faceplate that BT fitted no other hardware was installed

if you can help me then please do!!!

Re: HH 5 Replacement !!!!!

I have one but it suffers LCP drops as does the HH5 used on it's own, so it might be an expensive waste of time to be honest.

I have an unlocked HG612 and have used that withthe HH5 without issue and I'm loathe to say this (tempting fate!) but after reading some other posts in here regarding success with the ECI modem and HH5 I put it back on and it's still going strong after 2 days. I had tried this before and it suffered PPP LCP drops constantly, no idea why it seems stable now and the HH5 on it's own isn't.

Not tried the DSL-N66U for over a week but I do know it was syncing at lower speeds than the HH5 although there is a way to get an increase through telnet at the moment. Asus customer support have told me this function will be written into the GUI at the next firmware revision.

For the time being it might be worth just getting an ECI modem or maybe a HG612 from a well know auction site and connecting that up to the HH5.

Re: HH 5 Replacement !!!!!

Yeah, plug the phoneline into the HG612 and plug LAN1 of the HG612 into the WAN on the HH5.

Re: HH 5 Replacement !!!!!

The Openreach modem is a simple plug and play unit. If you use a non BT router you will need to set up the router as

PPPoE,  Username bthomehub@btbroadband.com and the password if the router ask for one, can be anything such as BT.

Re: HH 5 Replacement !!!!!

"Instruction manal" ?

Oh ,if its one of those unlocked HG612's , I think they also just plug the same way as normal ones and you can plug in lan2 to a spare  ethernet port for line info.
